The four plans, side by side
There are exactly four plans, and this table is every difference between them.
A plan decides active clients, storage, seats, AI actions and which modules are switched on. It never limits how many invoices, estimates, projects, tasks, time entries, expenses or leads you create - those are uncapped on every plan, Free included, and so is the Swiss QR-bill (QR-Rechnung) printed onto the invoice PDF.
| What you get | Free | Starter | Professional | Business |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price per month, CHF | 0 | 19 | 49 | 89 |
| Price per year, CHF | 0 | 190 | 490 | 890 |
| Active clients | 3 | 25 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Seats, owner included | 1 | 1 | 2 | 5 |
| File storage, per account | 1 GB | 5 GB | 25 GB | 100 GB |
| AI actions per month, per seat | 25 | 300 | 1'000 | 3'000 |
| Invoices, estimates, QR-Rechnung | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Documents module | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Switch the workspace language by hand | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Contracts and e-signature | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Automatic client-facing payment reminders | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Read-only access for your Treuhänder | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Swiss reference library | Federal basics | Everyday federal set | Everything, cantons included | Everything, cantons included |
| Deadline view and notices for your canton | No | No | Yes | Yes |

| Invoice instalment plans | No | No | No | Yes |
| Compliance dossier PDF, source watch, extra cantons | No | No | No | Yes |
The client cap counts active clients only, so a client whose status is no longer active frees its slot. Storage is one quota for the whole account, shared by every member, and only six file areas count against it: contracts, documents, invoices, receipts, task attachments and email attachments.
What the free plan really gives you
Free is the default, it does not expire, and a new account is created on it with no payment step at all.
- Invoices and estimates with no count limit, and the Swiss QR-bill on the invoice PDF
- Three active clients, one seat, 1 GB of file storage
- 25 AI actions a month, every AI output presented as a draft you approve
- The federal basics of the Swiss reference library: MWST rates, the VAT registration threshold, and how long records must be kept
- No card, no expiry date, no payment step at signup
Everything the table marks No is what Free leaves out. Everything else in the product is there, without a countdown.
Which plan fits an Einzelfirma
Pick by the first limit that would stop you, not by the longest feature list.
- Free, CHF 0
- You invoice a handful of clients and want the QR-Rechnung without paying for it. Three active clients is the ceiling.
- Starter, CHF 19 a month or CHF 190 a year
- The client cap stops being the thing you think about, and the everyday federal reference set opens: invoice contents, the QR-bill, the duty to keep books, simplified accounts, sole proprietorship, and AHV self-employed status. Still one seat.
- Professional, CHF 49 a month or CHF 490 a year
- The first plan with a second seat, and the one where chasing money and signing work stop being manual: automatic payment reminders, contracts with e-signature, and the cantonal reference library with a deadline view for your canton.
- Business, CHF 89 a month or CHF 890 a year
- Buy it for the four things on no other tier: bank statement import (camt.053 / ISO 20022), inventory and fixed assets, invoice instalment plans, and the top of the compliance layer - the sourced dossier PDF, the watch on official sources, and reading cantons besides your own.
Professional and Business carry a priority-support flag. No response time is defined anywhere in the product, so none is promised here.
The Swiss calculators - MWST, AHV/IV/EO, BVG, FABI, and the Saldosteuersatz against the effective method - are not gated by plan, and neither is the Säule 3a card. Each one prints the data year it uses and says to confirm with a Treuhänder before filing.
How billing actually works
Swiss francs, monthly or yearly, in advance, through Stripe Checkout.
You pick a tier and pay through Stripe
Payment runs through Stripe Checkout, and two-factor authentication has to be satisfied first if it is set up. A failed checkout returns you to the billing screen with a plain sentence saying nothing was charged. Where card payments are not switched on for a tier, the product says so rather than pretending a plan changed.
Stripe, not the app, grants the plan
The paid tier is written only by the Stripe webhook, after a confirmed payment. The application never grants a tier to itself, so nobody can hand themselves a paid plan.
It renews until you cancel, monthly or yearly
Billed monthly or yearly, in advance, renewing automatically until cancelled. A yearly term costs ten monthly payments, so two months are free: CHF 190, CHF 490 or CHF 890 for a year of Starter, Professional or Business. Only the account owner can change or cancel; members inherit the owner's plan.
Upgrading repoints the subscription you already have
Moving between paid tiers does not open a second subscription. The existing item is repointed at the new price with prorations, so nothing is taken from the card mid-period.
Cancelling ends the plan at the end of the paid period
You keep every paid feature until the end of the period already paid for, then the account moves to Free and nothing is deleted. The cancellation can be undone while that period runs.
A late payment does not cut access: while Stripe retries a card the account keeps its paid tier, and only a cancelled subscription drops it to Free.
What happens when you reach a limit
Reaching a limit stops the next thing you try to add. It never touches what already exists.
| Limit reached | What happens |
|---|---|
| Active clients | Creating a new client is refused, with a sentence naming your own plan's limit. Existing clients stay visible and editable. |
| Storage | The upload is rejected by the database before anything is written. Existing files are untouched. |
| AI actions, or the internal cost ceiling | AI pauses for the rest of the calendar month and every feature falls back to its non-AI output. The allowance resets on the 1st. |
| Team seats | The invite is refused. Re-sending an invite that already holds a seat costs nothing. |
| A feature your tier does not carry | One sentence naming the tier that lifts that gate, and nothing is created. |
There are two AI ceilings: the monthly call count and an internal cost cap kept as an abuse backstop. Whichever is reached first pauses AI until the next calendar month, and neither is user-editable. Storage is the one limit that genuinely blocks work, because a full account cannot upload the next file until space is freed.
The AI allowance, and what one AI action is
The allowance is per calendar month and per seat, and an AI action is more than a chat message.
The plan comes from the account owner's subscription, but the meter is keyed to the individual user. A two-seat Professional account therefore has 1'000 AI actions for each member per calendar month, not 1'000 shared.
- Every generative request counts as one action.
- Every OCR request counts as one action, so photographing a receipt is not a way around the meter.
- Every embedding request counts as one action.
The assistant drafts and proposes; you confirm. It plans first, read-only, shows exactly what it would change, and executes only after you confirm, through the same validated actions a person uses. Sending an email is not on its list of steps. Reply drafts for incoming mail are opt-in and never sent without your approval. AI rephrases text and never produces a figure: every number is computed by the application.
If a plan's allowance is not enough every month, High-volume AI is an add-on at CHF 39 per month that replaces it with a fair-use ceiling of 20'000 actions per calendar month. It belongs to the individual user who buys it, not to the whole account; unused actions do not carry over; and a USD 40 model-cost backstop sits behind the action count so an automated loop cannot run up an unbounded bill. Extra storage is the other add-on: CHF 4 per month for 10 GB, CHF 15 per month for 50 GB.
AI can be switched off per user, and with it off every feature falls back to a rule-based, predictable result rather than failing. AI is not unlimited on any plan, Business included.
One-time purchases beside the plan
Two things are bought once rather than subscribed to, and neither changes your tier.
An AI Boost pack adds actions to the current month only. It does not carry over, and the plan allowance still resets on the 1st.
| AI Boost pack | Price | Extra AI actions, this month |
|---|---|---|
| Small | CHF 5 | 1'000 |
| Medium | CHF 15 | 5'000 |
| Large | CHF 29 | 12'000 |
Email address validation for imported prospect lists is prepaid, owner-only, and in no plan. A balance alone does not switch it on - that is a separate opt-in. List price is CHF 0.03 per check.
| Validation pack | Price | Checks | Per check |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1'000 | CHF 30 | 1'000 | CHF 0.030 |
| 5'000 | CHF 135 | 5'000 | CHF 0.027 |
| 20'000 | CHF 480 | 20'000 | CHF 0.024 |
A credit buys one answer from the provider, and re-importing the same list is free because a verdict is cached against the address. If credits run out mid-run, the rest are reported as unchecked and every imported lead is still saved.
What you do not get, at any price
The half of a pricing page that tells you whether you are a bad fit. Read it before the table.
- No discount beyond the yearly term. A year costs ten monthly payments, and that is the only standing reduction on the list price.
- No self-service free trial of a paid plan. No 14 days free, no 30 days free.
- No refunds. Fees already paid are non-refundable and cancelling does not refund the current period.
- No granular roles. Every member of a shared account sees and manages everything, and no plan adds a narrower level of access.
- No in-app downgrade button. Going down means cancelling, which puts the account on Free at the end of the paid period.
- Billing is in Swiss francs only. There is no EUR price and no USD price.
- No referral credit, free month or commission. Referrals are counted; anything given is handled by hand.
- No uptime percentage is promised. The status page derives its bars from recorded incidents, not from a contractual figure.
Questions people ask
Is there a free trial of a paid plan?
There is no self-service trial, and no 14-day or 30-day free period. The Free plan does that job instead: it does not expire, needs no card, and carries full invoicing with the Swiss QR-bill for up to three active clients. A time-limited trial can be granted individually by the operator, and such a trial expires by itself rather than turning into a paid subscription.
What happens if I use up my AI allowance?
AI pauses for the rest of the calendar month and every feature that used it falls back to its non-AI output, so nothing in the product stops working. The allowance resets on the 1st. If you need more inside the same month, an AI Boost pack adds actions to that month only: CHF 5 for 1'000, CHF 15 for 5'000, CHF 29 for 12'000.
Can I switch plans, or switch to yearly, later?
Upward, at any time, and the change does not open a second subscription: the existing one is repointed at the new price with prorations, so nothing is taken from the card mid-period. Moving between monthly and yearly works the same way in either direction, because a term is simply a different price: the subscription you already have is repointed, the unused part of the period you paid for is credited, and the new term starts there. There is no downgrade button. Going down a tier means cancelling, which puts the account on Free at the end of the period you have already paid for. Only the account owner can change or cancel a subscription.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. A new account is created on the Free plan with no payment step at all, and Free does not expire, so there is nothing to cancel if you stop using it. A card is needed only when you move to Starter, Professional or Business, and that payment runs through Stripe Checkout.
What currency is Solory billed in?
Swiss francs, and only Swiss francs. There is no EUR or USD price, and no other currency can be chosen at checkout. The invoices you issue to your own clients are a separate matter and are not restricted this way; the Swiss QR-bill itself accepts CHF and EUR.
Is MWST added to the price?
No. Prices are stated in CHF without Swiss VAT, and no VAT is charged or shown on the receipt, because the operator is below the Swiss VAT registration threshold and is not VAT-registered. CHF 49 a month means CHF 49 taken from the card. This says nothing about your own MWST position, which the product helps you compute separately.
How do I cancel, and what happens to my data?
Cancel inside the app, on the billing screen; only the account owner can do it. Every paid feature stays until the end of the period already paid for, and after that the account moves to Free with nothing deleted. A cancellation can be undone while that period is still running. Fees already paid are not refunded, and your data can be exported as a ZIP archive at any time from the privacy settings.
